Pangu Jailbreak tool for iOS 9 (Pangu 9) is known ad "Fuxi Qin" and it was released on 2015/10/14 (only for Windows), but in the post we are also describing a method to Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu on Mac.

Supported iOS versions: iOS 9.0 – iOS 9.0.2 (iOS 9.0.0, iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.0.2). Don't upgrade to iOS 9.1 if you want to keep jailbreak.

Supported iDevices: iPod Touch, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5/5C/5S, iPhone 6 and 6+, iPhone 6S and 6S+, iPad Mini 2/3/4, iPad/iPad Air and Air2.

Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 9 – Screen

1 – Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu on Windows

Download Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 9 (Pangu 9): here (v 1.01; size: 73 MB)

After downloaded, go to "This PC" > "Download" folder and double click "Pangu9_v1.x.x.exe" file > Click "Run".

Before Jailbreak your device: Pangu is a well known and trusted tool. It was tested in all devices listed previously but make sure you back up your iDevice using iTunes or another iOS backup utility just in case and also make sure you've iTunes installed. After that enable the airplane mode.

Read the Jailbreak notice and if you agree click "Already backup" button.

Now you accepted Jailbreak recommendations connect you iDevice using USB.

One you have your device installed, you may see this notice:

You" start seeing the jailbreak process progress bar and status.

When wizard attains about 65% of progress it will ask you to unlock your iDevice and enable the airplane mode. You should wait until your iDevice comes up and then activate the airplane mode.

When wizard attains about 75% of progress it will ask you to unlock your iDevice and run Pangu app.

Pangu app is now available on your Home Screen and it will be automatically removed at the end of the installation and replaced by Cydia app.

Accept Pangu for iOS 9 conditions by clicking "Accept". Important: when "Allow Pangu to Access to your Photos" warning message appears. Tap "Allow". Otherwise your jailbreak will crash at 75% with the next error: "Error occurred in preparing the environment, err code(55)".

Pangu will finish the process injecting code.

Jailbreak is now complete and you'll receive the notice.

Your iDevice will automatically restart, and when you navigate on your Home Screen … you'll find Cydia app for iOS 9. Amazing right?

Important Note: don't forget to re-activate "Find my iPhone" again.

Getting some help (if you are not facing any fail just skip)

Pangu 9 is failing and your iDevice was upgraded via OTA?

OTA ("Over-the-air") upgrades can provoke some errors during jailbreak process. You can use Pangu to restore iOS firmware and it will automatically activate it.

This procedure should fix it. Anyway try this before: Put your device in "airplane mode" and try again or restart both your PC (where you've installed Pangu 9 ) and your iDevice.

Getting: "the disk is almost full" warning?

Don't worry. During the jailbreak process some files will be write directly in the system partition. After that, during the first run after Pangu 9 jailbreaking process, Cydia will take the needed actions to fix it and the warning will not show anymore.

2 – Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu on Mac OS X (using Windows VM)

In this section we will describe a method to use Pangu 9 to jailbreak iOS 9 on a Mac OS X using a Windows Virtual Machine (VM).

To do that, first we'll download Windows 10 and install it using a Virtual Machine Player.

Download Windows 10 ISO File

Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) here.

Scroll Down and select "Windows 10" Edition. Then "Confirm" button to proceed to the download. Select your language and click "Confirm".

Select the "64-bit Download".

Then select Windows 10 Edition and click "Confirm".

Download VMware Fusion 8 (the Virtual Machine Player)

Now download VMware Fusion 8 here. Or go to WMware Fusion website and download it from there (Select Fusion 8 and "Download Now").

Open VMware Fusion .dmg file. Follow the instructions in the image: (double click) to install.

When you see "VMware Fusion" warning (see the image) click "Open" button.

Put you administrator credentials to continue.

You'll be prompted to "Trial Message". Select "I want to try VMware Fusion 8 for 30 days." and then "Continue".

In the "Select the Installation Method" screen select: "Install from disc or image".

In the "Create a New Virtual Machine" screen choose: "Win10_English_x64.iso "file (the file you've downloaded in the beginning). To do that, drag the .ISO file to the "Drag Section". And the "Continue".

In the "Microsoft Windows Easy Install": pick "Use Easy Install", put a name to "Account Name" field, Select "Windows 10 Home" and leave the Windows Product Key blank. Click "Continue".

You'll be prompted to a warning popup telling you that most of versions of Windows require a product key. Just select "Continue Without Key".

In "Integration" screen select the 2nd option: "More Isolated" so VMware Fusion will not share Mac documents and apps with Windows keeping the OS isolated.

In the "Finish" screen click "Customize Settings" and then "Save".

Now go to "Processors & Memory" and give at least 4 processors and about 4GB of memory and click the "X" button.

Then click big "Play" button to start the installation (see the image).

The Windows Installation process from your Mac OS X has just started in a Virtual Machine (VM).

Here you have Windows 10 Home Edition running on a Virtual Machine (VM) on your Mac OS X. Easy right?

Now you have Windows 10 installed using a Virtual Machine on Mac OS X, just Install iTunes on Windows 10 and follow the Windows Instructions to Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu (go up to Section 1 in this post).

The same Virtual Machine method can be used to jailbreak iOS 9 on Linux or any other Operating System that supports visualization.
